Your compassion and generosity make possible everything we accomplish at the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center. Your pledges tonight will keep vital programs moving forward and growing, to help the animals and the community of St. Croix.

Project Safe
Project SAFE is on the road to keep animals from ever entering the shelter. This innovative, groundbreaking outreach program brings help to the most vulnerable pets and people in our community. Keeping pets happy and healthy in their homes, providing preventative care and treatment, spaying and neutering, and improving quality of life.
Care for Fido and Felix!
Preparing a homeless animal for adoption costs an average of $30 per animal per day. Nearly 3,000 animals pass through our shelter doors every year. That’s lots of kibble, baths and walks! Not to mention medical care. The SCAWC’s single highest expense is basic animal care.
Spay and Neuter
Spay/neuter is the cornerstone of the fight against pet overpopulation. The SCAWC spayed and neutered nearly 2,500 dogs and cats in 2020. Your pledge here means we can continue to offer low-cost and free spay/neuter surgeries.
Humane Education
A donation will sponsor staff visits to local schools and public events to talk about animal care and welfare, and the importance of responsible pet ownership. But outreach doesn’t end at schools! Radio advertising and publication of flyers and pamphlets have far-reaching effects!
Paws from Paradise
Give wings to homeless Crucian pets! Sponsor a flight for a shelter pet to a partner rescue in the States. 100% of these pets are adopted…your pledge here will guarantee more happy outcomes!
Unrestricted Donations
A category 5 hurricane and the Covid pandemic have had a devastating impact on the SCAWC over the past four years. Unrestricted gifts allow for the use of funds wherever they are most needed, even in the face of unpredictable challenges.
They are necessary to keep the doors open.
