PAWS FROM PARADISE
The island of St Croix has an overpopulation issue more indicative of a jurisdiction of 400,000 people versus the 50,000 people that live on island. There are simply not enough local homes on the island to adopt our animals to. Therefore, sending animals to the US mainland is the only chance many of our animals have for adoption.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
CARGO FLIGHTS
Currently, we to aim to have 2 cargo flights per month. Approximately 15-20 shelter animals are selected for cargo flight by partner shelters in the States. We then send those animals on Amerijet to Puerto Rico, and then on to Miami where they are picked up by our partner shelters. All our shelter animals are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and fully vetted for adoption.
At this time, we ONLY send our shelter pets on our cargo flights. We cannot accommodate animals that are not ours and already owned. If you need assistance planning transport to/from St Croix, we would be happy to provide logistical advice. However, we cannot provide financial or tangible service assistance.
Each animal costs $400-$600 to send to the states, and each flight costs us $3500-$4200. We desperately need more funding to cover the cost of these life-saving flights. Please consider donating directly to PFP and save the lives of these animals in need!

We’ll do all the work! All you need to do is:
1. Fill out the traveler form. CLICK HERE
2. We will match your flight itinerary to a partner rescue location and confirm your lifesaving flight!
3. We will meet you at the airport with your carry-on pet and help you check them in (we even pay the fee!).
4. All you have to do is carry them through security and place them under your seat for the duration of the flight!
5. Our partner rescue will meet you at your destination airport to pick up the pet!
