PET REHOMING
Currently we are accepting owner surrendered animals Monday-Friday 8.30am-4.30pm. In 2024, we will be transitioning to a managed intake model, where appointments will be required. Our goal is to keep pets in their homes so please let us know if we can help with any issues you may be having–from medical to behavioral.
DONATE
What do you consider an “owner surrender” versus a “stray”?
Any animal that you’ve been feeding for more than 2 weeks, we consider an owner surrender.
REHOMING YOUR PET
We understand that your circumstances may necessitate surrendering your pet. We aim to keep healthy animals in their homes, so if you are having trouble caring for your animal, please contact us and we may be able to help–from medical treatment to food assistance to travel arrangements.
PLEASE CALL (340) 778-1650 to speak with an intake counselor about your options.
**Please note: We will do our best to rehome your animal, but we cannot make any guarantees. Space is limited at the shelter. When we are full, we may ask if you can delay entry of your animal into the shelter system. Entry into the shelter system as a surrendered animal when the shelter is at capacity may result in humane euthanasia of your pet. This is a last resort, but given our space limitations, is an unfortunate reality.**
BEHAVIOR ISSUES?
Our team can offer you assitance with any behavioral issues your pet may be having. Please call us for a counseling session so we can help! Often, behavioral issues have a solution!
